1

My beach is nothing
but an endless sheet
of eggshell
for the flesh-colored
pastels of my feet.

2

I savor my innocence
and how it keeps me
from over-thinking
my composition.

3

I love how
my pastels
leave sunsets
on my fingertips.

4

The colors
are my best friends
so my color sense
is, of course, a party.

5

I wield
each pastel
like a surgeon
his gleaming scalpel.

6

The texture
of a pastel
against the tooth
of eggshell
makes me blush.

7

I find negative space
as beautiful
as if I
had painted it.

8

The delicate hues
of my pastels
bless my art
with subtlety.

9

I regard Day-Glo
as the trademark
of an amateur.

10

I waste no time
on whys
so I love the dickens
out of interviews.
